Where the light reaches

2022 / Archival Pigment Print / Printed in London / Edition 5

This book is an experiment of how photography can represent a sculptural work. I was inspired by the photo books that are piling on the desk, displayed on a bookshelf or just one fine book that is carefully placed on the table, I felt they look more like a sculpture. How photography can be a sculpture? I started to observe a paper to make a photo book and through that observation, I documented my experiment and exploration of how this paper behaves. I used the desk light to find and portray the character of their shapes and texture, and the images demonstrate the sculpted figures with a feature of photography. The design of this book is for the reader to find and observe their perspective to see the material and the image, and making the way to display them.
